Joe Kedzierski - 1948 - 2016

Dear Kedzierski Family,

The Facer District Merchants and Residents Association members, officers and directors wish to express to you and all of Joe’s friends our deepest sympathy on your and our loss of Joe.

The 2017 Facer European Festival is dedicated in memory of Joe.

Joe was a kind and caring son, brother, husband, uncle, father and grandfather, and he was also a very good friend to Polonia and others of the community who knocked on his door looking for his assistance.

Joe started out at a very early age to show Polonia and the community his compassion and leadership.  Joe started by becoming the President of the Youth Club of the Canadian Polish Society.  In recent years Joe served as a Director of the Canadian Polish Society and a founding member of the First Facer European Festival.  The years in between were spent supporting the community by sharing Joe’s vast knowledge of business and entrepreneurship.

We all witnessed Joe’s love of polka music and a good party in August of 2016.  In his youth, Joe showed us this by engaging bands from the United States and Canada to perform in St. Catharines.

In 2016 Joe was extremely instrumental in the creation of the Facer District Merchants and Residents Association and the First Facer European Festival.  There was no bigger satisfaction for Joe than to see everyone gather in front of St. Joseph Bakery and fill the street as his favorite music filled the air of Facer Street.

Thank You, Joe, for your friendship, and leadership and as you enter through the pearly gates, we know you will be greeted by all your friends who have waited for you!

Rest in Peace Joe and may the Lord’s perpetual light shine upon you!

Performers

Each year the members of the Facer European Festival need performers of all genres to entertain our guests in attendance.  The Facer European Festival and the individual stage proprietors provide entertainment for all ages young and old.  There will be multiple stages operating during this year’s festival:

The Main Stage [located at the Canadian Polish Society on Facer Street between Currie Street and Concord Avenue].

The European Stage [located at Your Deli on Facer Street just east of Currie Street]

The Polka Stage [located at St. Joseph Bakery on Facer Street between Concord Avenue and Ormonde Avenue].

The Italian / Rock Stage [located at Roberto’s Pizza Passion on the corner of Facer Street and Currie Street].

Whether your talent is Polish, Italian, Ukrainian, French-centric or otherwise, the Facer European Festival is your chance to showcase your ability.

If you are a performer or have a band that would like to play at the Facer European Festival, please submit your materials to info@facereuropeanfestival.com or mail the performer / band materials to:

Entertainment Committee

We start booking in January for the following year’s festival and try to complete our booking process by the end of April.  If you have not heard from us by then, you can assume that we are not able to include you in our line-up this year.

The Facer European Festival or the stage proprietor does not cover travel costs to and from St. Catharines, ON.  These fees are part of the contract fee negotiations.  Some entertainers, if they are touring, or if they get travel assistance may improve their probabilities of being booked but this is not a guarantee.

Please understand that the Facer European Festival and the stage proprietors receive numerous applications each year to perform at the festival.  The stage proprietors book many entertainers each year.  Rarely booking acts or bands that we are not familiar with or have not seen perform.

We appreciate the opportunity to work with so many talented performers; unfortunately, we are not able to engage every act.
